Pride Flag

May 17 marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia and aims to coordinate international events that raise awareness of LGBT rights violations and stimulate interest in LGBT rights work worldwide. 

The Municipality of Meaford will be flying the inclusive pride flag on May 17, 2023 to raise awareness and stand in solidarity with 2SLGBTQI+ community. Flying the inclusive pride flag reflects the Municipality of Meaford’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. 

The colours in the inclusive pride flag are as outlined below:

Yellow represents genders outside of the gender binary. White represents people who identify with many or all genders. Purple represents genders that are a combination of male and female. Black represents people who are agender. The yellow circle symbolizes the right to be who and how you want to be.
