On September 22, 2016 at approximately 7:41 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a rural residence on the East Back Line in the Township of Chatsworth regarding a fatal collision which claimed the life of a 5-year old boy. The victim was one of several siblings riding in the bucket of a tractor, pulling a "packer" implement, driven by a 13-year old sibling. The victim sustained fatal injuries after he had fallen out of the bucket and was struck by the equipment.

Resuscitation was attempted. The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the attending physician.

The deceased has been identified as 5-year old Marcus Dekker of the Township of Chatsworth.

The investigation is concluded pending the results of the post-mortem examination which is scheduled for September 23, 2016 in London.
