On September 22, 2016 at 10:33 a.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a diver in distress in Little Cove of Georgian Bay, Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula. Officers responded with members of the Canadian Coast Guard, and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) paramedics.
A group of divers were exploring the Niagara II Shipwreck site when a 45-year-old female diver began experiencing medical distress. The other divers assisted her by performing CPR. The Canadian Coast Guard took her to Little Tub Harbour where the paramedics took over and transferred her to the Tobermory Hyperbaric Chamber for treatment. Once treatment was completed she was air lifted to a Toronto hospital for further medical care.
The female is listed in stable condition.
