On October 1, 2016 at approximately 12:49 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at the intersection of East Back Line and 30 Sideroad in the Township of Chatsworth when a lone male, operating a Chevrolet Cobalt vehicle, approached the check-point. Officers observed a partially smoked, smouldering marihuana cigarette on the passenger side floor of the vehicle. Additional marihuana cigarettes were located in the centre console. The driver, who did not possess a Health Canada Certificate or doctor's prescription to be in possession of the controlled substance, was arrested.

Donald FREEMAN, age 42, of Hamilton, Ontario was charged with possession of marihuana under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He was released on a Promise to Appear in court in Owen Sound on November 10, 2016.
