On November 12, 2016 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in to a recreational property on Sideroad 19 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. Sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. that day, unknown person(s) forcibly entered a barn on the property. A number of items were stolen, including a reciprocating saw; a crossbow equipped with a scope; a custom made hunting knife; binoculars; compass; ATV helmet and goggles; beer and two deer hunting licences and tags.
On November 13, 2016, Grey County OPP was contacted by Waterloo Regional Police advising they had recovered the above stolen property as a result of a traffic stop. They arrested and charged a 39-year old male from Waterloo and a 35-year old male from Stratford with possession of stolen property in connection to the break-in in Grey County.
