On July 26, 2016, the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Grey County OPP received counterfeitseveral reports of two unknown males using counterfeit American currency in multiple businesses in the Bruce Peninsula and Grey County areas.On December 2, 2016, as a result of the investigation, Police have arrested and charged Syed Ali HUSSAIN, age 24, from Brampton. He has been charged with 19 counts of uttering counterfeit money and two counts of possessing counterfeit money. He is scheduled to appear before the Owen Sound Court of Justice on December 15, 2016.

A second unidentified male is still wanted in connection with the investigation. Police have attached a photo and are looking for the public's assistance in identifying the male.

The Bruce Peninsula OPP and Grey County OPP are requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
