In the afternoon hours of Thursday March 23, 2017, the Owen Sound Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a west end residence.
The Criminal Investigations Branch and the Drugs & Intelligence Unit, with the assistance of the Community Oriented Response and Enforcement Unit and the Uniform Branch, arrested two people during the search. Police seized approximately 7.6 grams of methamphetamine (crystal meth) and a small amount of marihuana. The total street value of the seized methamphetamine is estimated at $750.
Also during the search of the residence, police located stolen property from three recent break and enters in the City of Owen Sound as well as property which had been stolen from a business at the Heritage Place Shopping Centre.
A 43 year old Owen Sound man and his 27 year old spouse were arrested and will be charged with the following:
* Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
* Possession of methamphetamine
* Possession of marihuana
* Possession of a prohibited weapon (2 counts)
* Possession of property obtained by crime (4 counts)
