handshakeThe Council of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula is committed to delivering on a key goal in the Town's strategic plan: Delivering Supportive and Accountable Municipal Operations. As part of this work Council is following through on its commitment to recruit a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

The new CAO will provide strategic, accountable and progressive leadership to the Town's staff as the municipality moves into a period of new growth and opportunity.

"Our Council is focused on building a positive workplace culture and developing strong leadership in our organization; we want a team that is well resourced and capable, ensuring first class municipal services" said Mayor Janice Jackson. She continued "This search for a new CAO is something Council unanimously supports and we are committed to finding the right leader to continue moving the Town forward".

Council had previously partnered with Ward & Uptigrove, a consulting and human resources firm, to help identify opportunities to improve the Town workplace culture and leadership structure. As a result of this process, it was identified that a strong team leader of the staff in the organization would be beneficial by providing adequate resources to deliver on the progressive agenda set by Council.

The hiring process will be conducted by a hiring team comprised of Mayor Jackson and Councillor Matthew Jackson with the support of Ward & Uptigrove. Council is
committed to taking the necessary time to find the right leader for our organization but aims to have the position filled by October 2017.
