break-fullMEAFORD – On Saturday, August 2, 2014 at approximately 5:30 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in in progress at a cottage on Lakeshore Rd. N., in the Municipality of Meaford. Two male suspects entered the cottage while the occupants were sleeping. The suspects fled on foot when confronted by the homeowner.

During the investigation, police discovered three other residences, as well as one vehicle in the area, had been entered. The residences and the vehicle were insecure.

The OPP emergency response team and canine unit were called to assist. During the search for the suspects, numerous items which had been stolen, including a camera, cell phone and identification, were recovered in the area.

Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the two male suspects; described as:

- non-white; 5'9" – 5'10" tall; under 40 years of age.

Walkerton home broken into

WALKERTON - On August 3, 2014 at 4:46 pm, the South Bruce OPP received a break and enter report from a residence along Orange Street in Walkerton. Sometime between 11:00 am on August 1, 2014 and 4:30 pm on August 3, 2014, the home was entered through the front door and a quantity of cash was taken. The value of the theft and damage repairs is estimated to be $1,000.

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.
