life-fullThe Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing their search for a missing 22-year-old male from Queensland, Australia, whose canoe capsized June 1, 2017 at approximately 2:48 p.m., near the Grotto in Georgian Bay, in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) assisted with the search today and will be returning tomorrow on June 5, 2017; along with the Bruce Peninsula OPP Marine Unit, and the Bruce Peninsula National Park Wardens.

A second passenger in the canoe, a 25-year-old male, from Windsor, swam to shore. He was transported by Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local hospital with hypothermia and has since been released.

Both males were not wearing life jackets.
