niram shouldiceOn June 27, 2017 at 11:39 a.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of found human remains in a bush area along Lakewood Country Lane in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Police attended the location and the remains of one individual was located, removed from the scene, and transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto for post mortem examinations. As a result of the investigation and forensic examination, the deceased individual has been identified as 30-year old Niram Lee Shouldice, who was reported missing to the Bruce Peninsula OPP on March 6th, 2017.

The Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment, the Bruce Peninsula OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Ontario Forensic Pathology Services - Forensic Anthropology, and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario are continuing the investigation, under the direction of Detective Staff Sergeant Scott Moore of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

The Bruce Peninsula OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
