Lock box of prescription drugs stolen from automobile in Owen Sound.
The Owen Sound Police Service is distributing a public safety announcement after a quantity of prescription medications were stolen from an automobile on Owen Sound's east side. The theft occurred in the 2100 block of 9th Avenue East between 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017. It was reported to police this afternoon.
The stolen grey Century lock box was padlocked, and contained:
· Effexor & Escitalopram (antidepressants)
· Adorall (a stimulant)
· Dilaudid (an opioid pain medication)
All drugs can be potentially dangerous and must only be taken by the prescribed person, in the prescribed manner, at the prescribed time. Dilaudid can be extremely dangerous if taken with alcohol. Any person(s) who may have ingested any of these stolen drugs is strongly encouraged to attend the hospital or contact the Ontario Poison Control Centre at 1-800-268-9017 right away.
