Today the Owen Sound Police Service joins Ontario's annual Crime Prevention Week, which runs until Saturday, November 11, 2017.
The week-long promotion of crime prevention is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, and all police services across Ontario.
The Owen Sound Police Service will be working with government, community groups, and social services providers to promote crime prevention as a shared responsibility in our community. Once again, we have selected the theme, C.R.I.M.E :
C "Community Partners"
R Reduction of Victimization
I Internet Safety, Bullying and Tips for Seniors
M Media partners in the community
E Everyone plays a role in crime prevention
"Crime prevention and a community policing partnership is very important to us," said Constable Peddle of the Owen Sound Police Service. "We know that Ontario communities like ours, are among the safest in the world. That's because police agencies partner with community leaders, young people, businesses, and government to prevent crime from occurring. Owen Sound remains a safe and healthy place to live."
