Water samples taken at Lion's Head Beach show results within acceptable levels, according to Ministry of Health standards. The Grey Bruce Health Unit took samples on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Based on these results, the beach, which was posted as unsafe on August 20, 2014, is now deemed safe for swimming.
Water sampling from Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Kincardine Station Beach and Black Creek (also known as Old Woman's River) in Northern Bruce Peninsula shows bacterial levels exceeding Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards. As a result, these areas will be posted and remain posted until samples indicate that water is safe for bathing.
The Medical Officer of Health advises swimmers that high levels of bacteria in the water may pose a risk to their health.
