MemorialParkDuring the week of April 30th, 2018 the Municipality of Meaford will be doing some work in Memorial Park to expand and improve a series of campsites.

Sites 40 to 45 at Memorial Park, originally designed for tent trailer or small trailer use, will be expanded in order to meet the increased demand for larger campsites. At the moment, the sites are too small to accommodate trailers over 20ft, which have become increasingly common. There are also trees surrounding these sites that are causing safety concerns and threatening the hydro lines leading to the upper campground.

In order to improve these sites, 19 trees will be removed from the area as part of a chainsaw safety training course that will be taking place for Municipal staff, and new native tree plantings will be added in areas that don't conflict with campsite infrastructure.

Memorial Park is a picturesque park boasting 468 metres of beautiful shoreline on Georgian Bay. It features many amenities, including full service campground facilities and waterfront camping. It is also a pet-friendly environment, with a portion of the beach dedicated for dog use.

The campground is open from the first weekend in May until the week after Thanksgiving, and is currently accepting reservations. For more information on campsite bookings, visit www.meaford.ca/memorialpark or contact [email protected].
