On October 22nd 2014 just before 11:00pm a male driver was stopped by police after travelling through a red light in his pick up truck at the intersection of 2nd Avenue West at 10th Street West, Owen Sound. After detecting the smell of alcohol on the driver's breath the Roadside Screening Device was administered by the Officer and as a result the driver registered a "Fail".
The 47 year old male driver blew just over one and one half times the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.
The Owen Sound man will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 30th 2014 to answer to the charge of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operation with over 80 Milligrams.
The male's driver's licence was automatically suspended for a period of 90 days from the date of the offence and his vehicle was towed and impounded for a period of 7 days.
