The Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey Gala will see many changes this year. We continue to hold the event on the 3rd Saturday of October, as always, making this year’s event on Saturday, October 19th. Fitting, that the announcement for this event, and the tickets, are being released at the stroke of midnight on Friday, September 13th, because we will be holding a Halloween-Masquerade Ball this year. You can come as you are, dress in your finery with an extravagant mask, or dress up as your favourite superhero, lion, tiger or bear. Your imagination is your only limit. You decide if it’s Masquerade or Halloween, or just a great gathering of friends, for a great cause …. But the date is so close to Halloween, we couldn’t resist, and we know you won’t be able to either.
This amazing fundraising event will be held at the Kincardine Davidson Centre in the main hall. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour, with appetizers and a cash bar, at 5:30, followed by a 3-course meal, with beef, salmon and chicken, provided by Everywhere Catering (Bruce Steakhouse). A delicious dessert will end the meal, and then you can dance the night away to the music of the entertaining and talented DJ, Joe Carter. And in between your cocktails and your dessert, you can enjoy making bids on our wide array of Silent Auction items, and you can jump in and bid on our ever-popular Live Auction Experience Packages. Hint: we’ll be bringing back “The FIRST Table”, a highly sought after package, AND we have Raptors tickets as part of another package. There will be lots more to offer. And don’t forget our fun-filled Trivia Game and some Best Costume awards – you know you will want to take a chance and play, because the prize for being the winner is so worth it, and you’ll have such fun while you play.
So, after the stroke of midnight, on Friday, September 13th, you can find tickets, at $90 per person, available for sale on-line at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/womens-house-serving-bruce-grey/events/halloween-masquerade-ball-2019. A portion of each ticket sold will be eligible for a tax receipt, which will be issued after the event (after expenses are finalized) via email. All proceeds will go towards Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey, to help offset the shortfall that we experience between government funding and the actual costs to run the shelter and the vital programs and services that we offer to the women and children in our community that knock on our doors every day.
Watch for posters about the event around town, or better yet, LIKE our Facebook page @WomensHouseServingBruceGrey, and get all the updates and sneak peaks at LIVE and SILENT Auction prizes …. You can also find the link to ticket sales on our website at www.whsbg.on.ca and our Facebook page.
