On October 3, 2020 at 11:36 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint involving a black pick-up truck that was travelling at a high rate of speed, northbound on Grey Road 18, near the Mennonite corners intersection, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Grey Bruce OPP Officers stopped the involved vehicle and the driver failed a roadside screening device. They were arrested and transported to the Chatsworth detachment for a breath test.
As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 26 year-old from Georgian Bluffs, with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration 80 mgs or more, section 320.14(1)(b) CC.
The driver was issued a 90 day drivers licence suspension and their vehicle was towed and will be impounded for seven days.
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 5, 2020.
