trail RIDEOn 30 January 2021 in the afternoon hours, members of the Owen Sound Police Service conducted a daytime R.I.D.E. on the B Trail, located at the eastside edge of the city limits. The R.I.D.E. program was focused on impairment and proper documentation required to operate snow machines in Ontario.

A total of 70 vehicles were stopped. Drivers were checked for sobriety and required documentation was requested and inspected.

Provincial Offences Notices were issued for charges such as Drive Motorized Snow Vehicle -Trail Permit Not Issued, Owner Drive Motorized Snow Vehicle – Trail Permit Not Issued and Fail to Provide Evidence of Insurance under the Ontario Motorized Snow Vehicles Act.

No snowmobile operators were found to be impaired by alcohol or drugs.
