On Friday, July 21, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the Owen Sound Police Service was called after a man was stabbed in the area of 10th Street East and 3rd Avenue East.

Police searched the area and were able to locate and arrest the suspect male within twenty minutes of the incident. Officers also located the weapon involved.

It is believed that the victim and suspect were known to each other.

EMS attended to the victim who was taken to hospital where he was seen by medical staff and received surgery for non-life-threatening injuries. 

As a result of this incident, a 33 year old male from Owen Sound was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. Following a bail hearing he was remanded into custody.
