On Thursday, Aug. 17, shortly after 9:00 p.m. a 44 year old Owen Sound man sustained serious injuries during an assault which occurred in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound.

The victim, a local business owner, was assaulted by three Caucasian males who had attended his business and subsequently became involved in a dispute connected to the business.

The assault occurred in the street area outside of the business on the west of the street. The males fled the area. The victim was transported to a London hospital with critical injuries.

Police are seeking the assistance of the public from anyone who may have observed the altercation or may have observed the males responsible.

Further, the police are seeking to identify anyone in the area who may have video footage available or who may have been driving in the downtown area between 9:00 pm to 9:45 pm with an active dash camera in their vehicle.

Members of the Criminal Investigations Branch and Community Oriented Response and Enforcement Unit are continuing to investigate.
