An arrest has been made after a smash and grab from vehicles at Grey Roots.
Grey County Ontario Provincial Police wish to thank the media and the public for their assistance.
An arrest has been made in connection to the theft from three vehicles that were parked at the Grey Roots Museum on December 16, 2017.
After an ongoing investigation by the Grey-Bruce OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of the Owen Sound Police Service, the suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On February 5, 2018, the suspect was arrested in Stratford on the strength of the warrant and turned over to members of the Grey-Bruce CSCU.
32-year old Tyler James Geiger of Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with multiple criminal offences, including:
- Mischief Under $5000 (3 counts)
- Theft from Motor Vehicle (3 counts)
- Use Stolen Credit Card (15 counts)
- Possess Stolen Credit Card
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Breach of Probation (3 counts)
A bail hearing was scheduled for February 6, 2018. The accused remains in custody pending a video remand scheduled for February 12, 2018.
