At 6 am on Sunday morning, Owen Sound Police were contacted in relation to a fight involving three males. The fight initially started in the parking lot of an east side convenience store but spread inside the store where display racks were knocked over. Police located all three males on scene suffering minor injuries and found that all parties were under the influence of alcohol.

The investigation revealed that the three males were known to each other and had been consuming alcohol together through out the evening and early morning hours. Police were advised that one of the males had become agitated while being driven home and an argument ensued between this male and the driver of the vehicle.

The driver stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of the convenience store and the driver and another male attempted to calm the agitated male. A fight broke out between the three parties as two of the males attempted to prevent the agitated male from entering the convenience store.

A 26 year old Owen Sound man was placed under arrest by police for causing a disturbance by fighting. Further investigation identified the male party that had been operating the vehicle. A 35 year old Allenford man failed a road side test administered at the scene and was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The male's licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was operating, which belonged to the 3rd male, was impounded for 7 days.

Both males were transported to Owen Sound Police Service and later released with court appearances in May and June.
