On April 22nd, 2018 shortly after 10 pm, Owen Sound Police were contacted in relation to a male party acting erratically and brandishing a knife while inside a westside laundromat. Several patrons of the laundromat became alarmed and afraid for their safety when a 33 year old male entered the laundromat and began waving a folding knife in the direction of a patron outside of the business while talking to himself. The witnesses fled the business and contacted police.
The male party was located inside the business by police and after initially refusing to comply with orders to drop his weapon, was taken into custody without incident. The male party admitted to being under the influence of a narcotic. The Owen Sound male remains in custody pending a bail hearing later today. The male is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and for breaching weapon conditions of an earlier court recognizance.
