OS-Police-Targs-fullOwen Sound Police investigate fail to remain.

On 17 June 2018 at approximately 9:22am a concerned citizen contacted the Owen Sound Police after finding a hydro pole that had been damaged over night in the 1600 block of 6th Avenue East. Police attended and determined the damaged to have been caused by a motor vehicle collision. Neighbours reported that they heard a loud bang and then a vehicle leaving the area at approximately 3:30am.

Police searched the area and located the vehicle involved. A 23 year old Owen Sound male faces 3 charges under the Highway Traffic Act; Fail to remain, fail to report accident and fail to report damage to private property. He has been given a July court date.

Hydro One attended and inspected the damage to the pole. They determined the pole was not a safety concern as only the outer skin of the pole had been damaged.

The vehicle sustained significant damage.
