In the evening hours of Wednesday August 15th, 2018 members of the Owen Sound Police Service, Criminal Investigation Branch, Drug and Intelligence Units conducted observations within the city directed at theft from motor vehicles.
This directed patrol is as a result of an increase in calls for service relating to the theft from motor vehicles throughout the city over the past month.
As a result of the observations conducted on the upper east side of the city, two youths and one adult were arrested by police.
* A 21 year old Owen Sound man faces criminal charges for theft and possession of stolen property.
* A youth faces charges for possession of stolen property, fail to comply with probation (2 Counts) and fail to comply with Recognizance of bail.
* A second youth was referred to the Y Diversion Program in lieu of criminal charges.
City residents are reminded to always lock their vehicle when unattended, not leave valuables in their vehicles and to notify the Owen Sound Police Service if they see suspicious persons or activity in their neighborhoods.
