On January 22, 2019 at approximately 1:34 p.m., a Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police officer, patrolling southbound on Thompson Sideroad in the Township of Georgian Bluffs, observed a northbound Kubota tractor leave the roadway - entering the east ditch.
Upon speaking with the operator of the tractor, the officer detected an odor of alcohol. After registering a "fail" on an approved roadside screening device, the operator was transported to the Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment for breath tests which he failed.
A 41-year old Georgian Bluffs was charged with impaired driving and over 80 milligrams. He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on February 28, 2019.
