Owen Sound man charged in trafficking investigation, and additional Blue Fentanyl seized.
During the afternoon hours of January 24, 2019 the Owen Sound Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit concluded a drug trafficking investigation with the arrest of a 25 year old local man of no fixed address.
The man was found in possession of highly toxic blue Fentanyl with a street value of approximately $2,800. This Fentanyl is similar in appearance to Fentanyl that was seized by the Drug Enforcement Unit last week. As previously mentioned, this toxic substance is believed to be linked to recent overdose incidents in Owen Sound.
The accused is charged with Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Possession of Stolen Property and Failing to Comply with Multiple Court Orders.
A second Owen Sound male was also charged in the investigation with committing a Theft from a downtown store and Failing to Comply with Multiple Court Orders.
Both accused males were detained in police custody and are scheduled for bail hearings on January 25, 2019.
