On March 28, 2019 at approximately 11:00 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police attended the Markdale Community Centre parking lot located on Walker Street in the Municipality of Grey Highlands after a smash and grab from two vehicles was reported.

Sometime between 9:50 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. unknown person(s) smashed a window of each vehicle to access a women's purse left inside the vehicle. The stolen purses contained personal identification, credit cards and cash.

Anyone with information which may assist is asked to call Grey County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.

Police remind the public not to leave valuables inside the vehicle that are in plain view. These are crimes of opportunity and may be avoided.
