ospslogoPolice need help with a dog bit incident.

On Monday April 8th 2019, at approximately 3:30pm, a 16 year old girl was walking home from school southbound along the east sidewalk in the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue East. At that time an unknown woman walking a dog was approaching northbound along the sidewalk. The leashed dog jumped up onto the teenager and bit her in the right elbow area breaking the skin. It is believed that the person in control of the dog was not aware that the dog actually bit the youth.

Police need to speak with the owner of the dog in order to provide follow up information to the Grey Bruce Health Unit in relation to the Animal Exposure. The breed of the dog is unknown but is described as tall, thin, white with brown spots, floppy ears and a normal length tail.

Police request that the dog owner or anyone who may have information about the dog and or owner contact the investigating officer, PC Tom Harris #181 at (519) 376-1234 extension 181 or [email protected]. Alternatively citizens can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip through Crime Stoppers at www.cstip.ca.
