On April 27, 2019 at approximately 7:54 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) together with the Inter-Township Fire Department and Grey County Paramedic Services (EMS) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Grey Road 1 just north of Grey Road 17A in the Township of Georgian Bluffs that resulted in serious injuries.
Initial investigation revealed that the vehicle was travelling southbound on Grey Road 1. The driver lost control of the vehicle on a curve. The vehicle crossed the centre line, left the roadway, rolled and proceeded to collide with a hydro pole and two parked unoccupied vehicles on private property.
The driver, a 17-year old male and a 17-year old female passenger, both of Owen Sound, were extricated from the vehicle and transported to hospital via ambulance with serious non-life threatening injuries. Both victims were being transported via air ambulance to a London hospital for medical treatment.
