Ontario Provincial Police LogoGrey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with South Bruce Peninsula Bylaw officers, will be patrolling Sauble Beach this long weekend looking for people who choose to participate in illegal and prohibited activities.

Grey Bruce OPP have been receiving complaints from the public that people are using the beach with disregard for the laws and bylaws that are in place to protect the public. The top complaints received by both OPP and Bylaw has been, drinking alcohol, smoking tobacco or cannabis or using a BBQ, on the beach area.

During the last July long weekend OPP officers charged multiple people with having open liquor on the beach. Officers and bylaw officers will be patrolling on foot, bicycle and ATV this weekend.

If you witness someone jeopardizing public safety on the beach call Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and report the offence. 

If you witness someone not following the bylaws and committing prohibited activities on the beach, contact South Bruce Peninsula Bylaw at 519-534-1400 extension 143.
