flare fullOn January 9, 2020 at 7:14 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a fully engulfed house fire at Artemesia-Euphrasia Townline, east of Grey Road 13, Grey Highlands. At the scene OPP officers were able to account for two of the three occupants living in the home.

Grey Highlands Fire Department and Grey County Paramedics attended the scene. One of the two occupants, at the scene, was transported to hospital by an ambulance with serious injuries. A third occupant of residence is unaccounted for at this time.

On January 10, 2020 Grey Bruce OPP, along with OPP Forensic Identification Services, Grey Highlands Fire Department and Ontario Fire Marshal, returned to the scene of the structure fire and continued the fire investigation.

After a search of the burned residence, remains were located.

On January 15, 2020 the fire scene was released by the Ontario Fire Marshal. Following a post mortem examination of the remains found within the burned out structure, they have been identified as human remains. Grey Bruce OPP continue to work with the Coroner to identify the human remains. The death is not considered suspicious.
