Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged 5 different drivers, over the past 5 days, for operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol. Fortunately, in none of the incidents, no one was hurt because of this needless act.
The incidents occurred in five different municipalities of Grey County and involved male and female drivers ranging in age from 21 to 54 years.
Grey Bruce OPP have reported throughout 2019 on the steady and concerning increase of Impaired Drivers on our roadways. Impaired Driving charges increased 81 percent in 2019 over the previous year. In 2018 Grey Bruce OPP charged 77 drivers with impaired driving and in 2019, 140 drivers were charged.
