On January 30, 2020 at 4:18 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle crash along Concession 2 in Elderslie Township. Officers attended with Bruce County Paramedics to find that a pick-up truck had left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

A Hydro One crew was called to the scene to assess the damage to the hydro pole.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are attending to assist the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.

Concession 2 has been closed between Side road 15 and Side road 20 in Elderslie Township for the safety of emergency responders. Motorists are asked to respect the closure and avoid the incident area.
