oppb graphic fullOn May 9, 2020 at 11:14 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a (green) car on Highway 21 at Saugeen First Nation. During stop OPP officer observed cannabis in unsealed container and in plain view. Following a search of the vehicle officers discovered a bag containing over 2 pounds of dried cannabis, packaged for illegal distribution.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 24 year old from Windsor, with the following offences,

Possession of over 30g dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place, section 8(1)(a) Cannabis Act (CA)
Possession for the purpose of distributing, section 9(2) CA
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, section 12(1) Cannabis Control Act
Enter premises when entry prohibited, section 2(1)(a)(i) Trespass to Property Act

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is required to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on July 15, 2020
