It was the last regular season games this past weekend for The Owen Sound MacKinnon Plumbing Heating U11A girls’ team as they traveled to Kawartha. They won their first game 3-1 in a close battle against Orangeville. Scoring for Owen Sound was Quinn Norton, Lyla Doyle and Reese Harvey. They played hometown Kawartha in their second game, taking a 9-3 loss. Goals scored in the second game were Keeva Fox (2) and Briar McCoubrey. A terrific regular season, finishing 5-3-2. Coach Cam and Coach McCoubrey look forward to an exciting weekend at Provincials July 22-24 in Oshawa. Good luck girls.

The U11B Sunbelt Rentals headed to Kawartha this weekend ending their regular season with 2 wins!Their first matchup was against Six Nations with a score of 3-2. Two goals from Tessa Matheson and a single from Molly Richardson The girls had an intense matchup against Orangeville(2) walking away with a score of 6-53 goals scored by Hana Carr, 2 from Tessa Matheson and another single from Molly RichardsonKyla Johnson was excellent in the net The team will be heading to Provincials in Oshawa July 22nd.

The Owen Sound Berner Contracting U13B team were back in action in Peterborough this weekend. They played K-W3 the first game and came out strong as a team with a 13-0 win. Hailey Frede got the shut out in net. Goals scored: Camryn Laycock (3), Addison McCoubrey (2), Jenna Cranny (5), Scarlett Stevenson, McKenna Ward and Callie Sarvis. The second game was against Orangeville. The girls played hard and came away with a 7-3 win. Goals scored: Addison McCoubrey (5), Jenna Cranny and Reese Holman. In net, for the first time and coming off the bench with an injury, was Ava Ward. The girls finish their year at the provincial tournament in Oshawa in two weeks.

After a break last weekend, the Owen Sound 1 Krueger Custom Steel U15 girls’ field lacrosse team, were back at it in Kawartha on Saturday. The girls ended their last regular season weekend tournament with two wins! Game one had a score of 14-2 over Burlington. Goals scored by Bree Wilkins (7), Ryann Seaman (3),Taryn Weppler (2) and Charlotte Fox (2). The team faced Oakville for their second match. The N’Stars fought hard the entire game and never let up, with tough defense, quick passes, fast rushes and aggressive stick checks, the team came out with the win 9-8 over Oakville. Goals scored by Ryann Seaman (5), Bree Wilkins (2) and singles by Katie Marshall and Camryn Stauffer. A strong showing in net for both games by Mykah Harris. The team is off to provincials next weekend in Oshawa.
