The first big race date of the 2016 season is just around the corner as The Beach will come alive with the roar of engines and the smell of race fuel. Three of the provinces top touring classes will make the drive to Ontario's West Coast this Saturday including the APC United Late Model Series making its debut at Sauble Speedway for race three in their 2016 series.
This series has been nothing but outstanding since its first race last season bringing the top pro late model drivers in the province together again in one series. With this being the series' first visit to Sauble Speedway all eyes will be on the local drivers with a handle on this track to move to the front fast. People will be watching drivers like defending Late Model Champion Josh Stade of Chesley and past champion Jason Parker from Port Elgin along with the likes of Sauble regulars Marvin Freiburger from Walkerton and Tom Gibbons of Southampton all regulars at Sauble Speedway. But the most eyes will be on Andrew Gresel from Sauble Beach who has won the first two races in the series this year and will be looking to make it three in a row.
Along with APC, the Lucas Oil Sportsmen Cup series and the Ontario Pro Challenge series will be on the card as will our own Jr Late Models and the new Bone Stock division giving them the opportunity to race in a show of this caliber making this a huge night of racing for fans.
Pit gates open at noon Saturday with the main fan gates opening at 5:00 PM with Lucas Oil Sportsmen Cup qualifying starting at 5:30 PM followed by APC qualifying starting at 6:00 PM. With the green flag for Jr Late Model, Bone Stock and Ontario Pro Challenge heat races starting at 6:30 PM.
