2016 Sauble Speedway Champions captionOn Saturday October 29th drivers, crews, sponsors and fans attended the 2016 Sauble Speedway awards banquet held this year at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound. This year as in past years feature trophies along with the points standing trophies and specially trophies were handed out in each class along with the very important track sponsorship apparition plaques.

In the MacKinnon Plumbing & Heating Junior Late Models this year coming in fifth in points plus winning the Most Improved driver award was 14 Bradon Grimoldby from Owen Sound. Coming in fourth in points along with the Best Appearing car was number 8 Kyle Parker from Hanover. Third in points and this year's Rookie of the Year was 25 Zenas Johnston of Wairton. Second in points and this year's Hard Luck winner was 88 Tyson Schreinert from Ayton. And capping off a hard fought points battle this season to be crowned the 2016 Junior Late Model champion along with picking up the Team Adam Most Sportsmanlike driver was number 7 Ty Cavallin from Owen Sound.

In the new Bone Stock division this season there was only three drivers who qualified for the point's championship and a chance to be the first to take home a one of a kind custom made skull trophy designed and made by track owner Jason Thom. In third spot out of Stratford was number 92 Kyle Neumeister. In Second it was the 1 of Matt VanDyk from Annan. And the first every Bone Stock champion at Sauble Speedway was 277 Ray Flynn from Clinton.

In the Four Cylinder class this season coming in tenth in points and picking up the Hard Luck award was number 3 Randi Sequin from Glencarin. Nine in points was 24X Richard Butler from New Lowell, eighth in points it was 6 Kyle Jackson from Sauble Beach. Seventh this season went to the number 7 Paul Boyd from Harriston coming in sixth and picking up this seasons Rookie of the Year was 37 Eric Thom from Sauble Beach. Coming in fifth and this years Most Improved driver was the 6M Travis McLean from Harriston. Fourth in points and this year's winner of the Team Adam Most Improved Driver was 1 John VanDyk from Annan. Bringing home third place this season was number 10 William Gibbons from Port Elgin, second this season was the 51 of Craig Kamrath from Allenford. And this season Champion along with picking up the Best Appearing car was number 17 Kevin Bridge from Kincardine.

Thunder Cars this past season provided drivers and fans alike with some of the best racing at The Beach and when the season was over the history would be made. Kicking things off was the award for Most Improved driver and this year's winner number 4 Zach Sprung from Owen Sound. Coming in tenth in points this season was number 20 Glen Schnurr from Hepworth, ninth would go to 68 Kent Cruickshank from Owen Sound, eighth would go to the 0 Joe Adams

from Owen Sound. Bringing home seventh in points this season along with picking up the Hard Luck plus the Rookie of the Year award was number 3 Douglas Fischer from Mount Forest. Sixth in points this season was the 99 of Jaymee Adams from Hepworth, coming in fifth and this year's Best Appearing car was 16 Zack Casemore from Sauble Beach. Fourth in points was 01 Brandon McConnell from Tara, third in points and this year's Team Adam Most Sportsmanlike driver was 47 Kent Nuhn from Desboro. Second this season was number 77 Jake Zevenbergen from Shallow Lake and making history this year bringing home his third consecutive points championship was the 36 of Ken Grubb from Walkerton.

In the Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Model division bring home the Team Adam Most Sportsmanlike driver award was number 5 Jason Legge from Owen Sound. Coming in tenth in points this year was number 71 Doug Wilson from Owen Sound, ninth in points was number 89 Tommy Robb from Durham. Eighth and this year's winner of the Hard Luck award was number 10 Tom Gibbons from Southampton coming in seventh and this year's Best Appearing car winner was 72 Jr Farrelly from Guelph. Sixth in points this season was 77 Tim Gordon from Cambridge, fifth in points went to 88 Tim Schreinert from Ayton. Fourth in points and this year's Rookie of the year went to the 2 Kevin Bridge from Kincardine, third in points this season went to the 2 of Tim Ellis from Kitchener, second in points would end up going to the 37 Marvin Freiburger from Walkerton. And capping off an incredible last night of racing and bringing home his second straight Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park championship was 17 Josh Stade from Chesley.
