The Owen Sound Attack are set to head south of the border to do battle with the Erie Otters on what is being billed as the biggest night in American history. Slated for a 7:00pm meeting, the Midwest Division rivals will renew hostilities for the 3rd time in the 2016-17 season when the puck drops on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Owen Sound skates into Tuesday with a record of 10-8-0 on the year thanks to their 5-4 overtime victory over the Sarnia Sting on Saturday, Nov. 5, while the Erie Otters lead the OHL with 27 points thanks to their 13-3-1-0 record.
Erie is also sitting favourably in the polls, and is currently ranked 5th in the Canadian Hockey League.
Tuesday night's game marks the final trip to Erie for the Attack this season, after the two teams met for a double header on Oct. 21 and 22.
Owen Sound took the first game of that weekend meeting, winning 4-3 in overtime before the Otters were victorious in the 2nd matchup by a score of 5-2.
In the season series with Erie, Owen Sound is led by Kevin Hancock who has a pair of goals in two games. Also producing at a point per game clip against the Otters is Maksim Sushko, Ethan Szypula, and Santino Centorame.
Attack scoring leaders Petrus Palmu and Nick Suzuki, who have 24 and 22 points on the year respectively, have each registered an assist against Erie thus far on the season.
The Otters are paced by league leading scorer Taylor Raddysh, whose 15 goals and 39 points are just four ahead of teammate Alex DeBrincat's 17 goals and 35 points.
Raddysh and DeBrincat have combined for six points against the Attack in the two meetings this year, while Kyle Pettit also has three points in the series between the Midwest Division rivals.

Following the trip to Erie, the Attack will head to Kitchener for a Friday night match up with the Rangers before returning home to take on the Ottawa 67's at the Bayshore on Saturday, Nov. 12.
