The Owen Sound Attack is announcing that they have acquired goaltender Emanuel Vella from the London Knights in exchange for a conditional 7th round draft pick in 2018. Should Vella appear in 12 or more games, the pick will turn into a 4th round draft pick in 2018.
Vella, 18, was a 3rd Round pick of the Knights in the 2014 Priority Selection and has appeared in 5 games for the Knights this season going 3-1-0-1 with a 2.95 GAA and an .895 save percentage, however; a crowded crease in London meant having to move one of their stoppers.
"Emanuel has tremendous upside and we feel he will fit into our organization very well.", stated Attack General Manager Dale DeGray. "We'd like to welcome both he and his family into our organization."
The 6'4, 190lb, Toronto native was on NHL Central Scouting's Players to watch list last September, however; saw limited action behind #1 Tyler Parsons and overage backup Brendan Burke on a team that won the MasterCard Memorial Cup.
Vella will join the Attack on Friday in Kitchener.
