The Bayshore will be rocking on Wednesday, Nov. 23 when the Owen Sound Attack play host to a Midwest Division rival in a game sponsored by Grey Roots Museum and Archives.
Fresh off of picking up four of six available points in a weekend road trip, the Attack will take to the ice against the visiting London Knights in a 7:00pm puck drop.
Meeting for the first time in 2016-17, the Attack and Knights last squared off in the opening round of the 2016 OHL Playoffs, a series that London won 4-2 en route to winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup and eventually the Memorial Cup.
London enters play on Wednesday night at first place in both the Division and the OHL thanks to their record of 16-3-2-1 and 35 points, while the Attack are seemingly locked in at 4th place in the Midwest with 25 points - four back of Kitchener.
But both squads are vastly different from the teams that met last April.
Instead of current Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner leading the way for the Knights, the defending champs are being paced by Buffalo Sabres prospect Cliff Pu, whose 39 points has him in 4th place in the league scoring race.
Also helping lead the way for London's offence is rookie import Janne Kuokkanen who has 12 goals and 20 assists in 20 games, giving him one more point than Attack leading point scorer Petrus Palmu.
Palmu, who has found the back of the net 16 times on the year, is currently 10th in league scoring with 31 points and was recently named Owen Sound's Huron Tractor Player of the Week after recording six points in the team's three game road trip.
The 3rd year Finn is seeing his offensive efforts backed up by the stellar play of draft eligible teammate Nick Suzuki.
Suzuki, a London native, as compiled 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points which leaves him just two points back of Palmu for a spot inside the top 10 in league scoring.
Owen Sound's 12-11-1-0 record is just a product of their team's play with the puck, however.
In the midst of a stretch of games that included a strong performance for Team OHL in the CIBC Canada/Russia Series, Attack keeper Michael McNiven has improved his record to 10-5-1-0 on the year and his goals against average and save percentage - which sit at 2.36 and .917 respectively - are both 2nd in the league amongst goaltenders.
McNiven will likely square off against London's Tyler Parsons on Wednesday night, who has appeared in eight games on the year while posting a 2.69 goals against average and a .905 save percentage, good for a record of 6-1-1.
Tickets for Wednesday night's game, and all remaining Attack home games are available for purchase at the MacVicar & McComb ReMax Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452.
Before the Attack and Knights square off on Wednesday though, fans are reminded of the Bears In Blue Celebrity Serve that will take place at Boston Pizza Owen Sound from 6-8pm on Tuesday night.
Benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society through the Bears In Blue initiative, Attack players will be serving dinner to those in attendance and Boston Pizza will be donating 10% of all food sales to Bears In Blue.
The team will also be debuting their special Bears In Blue jerseys that will be worn in Saturday, Nov. 26's game against the Mississauga Steelheads. For more information on Bears In Blue, please visit here: http://attackhockey.com/article/attack-and-canadian-cancer-society-announce-bears-in-blue
