Varney - It was a long time coming but Cole Weber from New Hamburg was finally able to put it all together Friday night and land both Pro Late Model features at Full Throttle Motor Speedway. With the season three quarters done # 11 Cole Weber has raced hard in the Chuck Lawler / Bill Alderson built machine picking up a number of features but as good as one race would go the next would have its issues but this night was all his! In Feature one he would start pole which allowed him the lower groove but with veteran short track racer Kent Nuhn in # 1 on the outside it was no easy task to get out in front. Once Weber got out in front he had Nuhn in his mirror all race inside and outside he tried but at the line it was Weber, Nuhn, then # 12 Justin McLellan from Mount Forest for third, fourth would be Dan Wright from Owen Sound and rounding out the top five # 40 Mark Dixon from Durham. Feature two would turn out to be more of a challenge for Weber as he would find himself starting in the last row. Solid driving and timely cautions would allow Weber to pick his way through the field and on a lap eleven restart he would find himself on the outside pole and that was what he needed to get around # 12 Justin McLellan and into the lead. Second this time would go again to # 1 Kent Nuhn from Desboro, third was # 12 Justin McLellan, fourth # 40 Mark Dixon, and rounding out the top five # 1W Dan Wright.

ftrace-aug-eIn Mini Stock action this week in feature one the always strong # 51 Clark Hartman from Waterloo would take advantage of starting outside pole has he would lead every lap in this one. A lap six caution would allow # 36 Corry Young from Owen Sound to get close but never close enough to pass. As it would end up Hartman, Young, # 73 Scott Schlueter from Milverton for third hopefully turning around the hard luck season he has been having then # 34 T.J Edwards from Fergus for fourth and rounding out the top five # 7 Brian Wilson from Rockwood. Feature two was a side by side battle from the drop of the green between # 85 Nick Clarke from Mount Forest and # 7 Brian Wilson. Even though battling each other the pair managed to put some distance on the rest of the field until # 36 Corry Young caught them to make it a three car race up front. Then on lap twelve Clarke and Wilson made contact sending Wilson spinning to the infield bring out the caution and putting both Wilson and Clarke to the rear of the field. On the restart it was # 36 Corry Young on pole with # 35 Tim Tolton on the outside and # 51 Clark Hartman starting in third. Once the green flag dropped again it was another three car race up front as these drivers put on a show for the fans for the last eight laps in the end it would be # 36 Corry Young, second # 51 Clark Hartman, third # 35 Tim Tolton from Guelph, fourth # 135 Chance Isherwood and in fifth # 73 Scott Schlueter. ftrace-aug-fVideo of this race can be seen on You Tube by going to Full Throttle Motor Speedway or by following this link: http://youtu.be/duxPvaEkVP4

In Pure Stock action this week we saw one of the biggest car counts to date with five new drivers taking to the highbanks to try their luck. In feature one it would be # 34T Don Tremble from Durham taking the field to the green and battling the first sixteen laps with # 95 Jonathan Bates from Owen Sound until a steering issue would cause the Tremble to meet up with the turn two wall. On the restart Bates had his hands full as # 14 Luke Bos and # 01Travis Farrow did all they could to get past but that is how they would finish up. Fourth would go to # 4 Jesse Lamont from Hanover and rounding out the top five # 85 Will Walker from Ayton. Feature two would see some of the new comers get a lot more comfortable with the racing and make them known to the rest of the field. Off the start it was # 01 Travis Farrow jumping to the lead on lap two and he never looked back but it was no easy run as # 14 Luke Bos was right on his bumper waiting for him to make a mistake. In the end it would be Farrow, Bos, with third going to # 95 Jonathan Bates, fourth # 66 Doug Leopold from Owen Sound, and rounding out the top five new comer # 73 Sheri McIntyre.

ftrace-aug-b-featCrazy Train action this week saw another two action filled features, in feature one Here We Go from Listowel lead this one from start to finish holding off Texas Traincar Massacre from Mount Forest followed by Jonathon Bates Roofing with the Rockford Rednecks heading to the pits early. Feature two action saw this one going to Rockford Rednecks, followed by Texas Traincar Massacre, then it was Here We Go and rounding out the field Jonathon Bates Roofing from Owen Sound.
