attackblack-fullWith three games left in the 2017-18 Regular Season, and home ice advantage in the first round of the OHL Playoffs on the line, the Owen Sound Attack head west to begin their final push to the post season.

Beginning on Wednesday night in Flint, the Attack will square off against three West Division teams over the course of four days to close out the season.

Currently 5th in the Western Conference with a record of 35-22-3-5, the Attack's 78 points has them two back of London for that final home ice slot with both sides having played 65 games on the season.

Owen Sound is guaranteed to face the Knights in the first round of the post season, but with no guarantee of the Midwest Division rivalry will start.

The Attack will look to make inroads on that quest for first ice when the puck drops at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Centre at 7:00pm on Wednesday night.

Flint, already eliminated from playoff contention, is neck and neck with the Sudbury Wolves for the 1st overall pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection with both teams sitting at 43 points on the season.

Owen Sound leads the season series between the squads at two games to one, with Flint's only victory between the teams coming in the Attack's season opener back on Sept. 23.

Since then, the Bayshore Boys have enjoyed a 6-4 in Flint on Nov. 19, and a 5-4 victory at home on Dec. 9.

Entering the final three games of the year, Attack leading scorer Nick Suzuki sits at 93 points through 61 games, putting him three back of his career high of 96, set last year in a 65 game span.

Countering the Vegas Golden Knights' prospect for Flint is overage forward Maurizio Colella, whose 60 points is best on the Firebirds - one more than draft eligible stalwart Ty Dellandrea's 59.

Following the midweek tilt south of the border, Owen Sound will travel even further south, but cross back into Canada to take on the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday night.

The 7:05pm start will also mark the fourth and final meeting between the teams on the season, with the Attack also holding a 2-1 advantage in the season series over the Spits.

Windsor, led by Cole Purboo and his 47 points, is currently tied with Saginaw for 6th in the Western Conference at 66 points, just one more than the Guelph Storm in a race to avoid the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the opening round of the playoffs.

Fans can watch both road games live on Rogers Local 53, while also tuning into Fred Wallace's call of the action on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.

Following Thursday night's matchup in Windsor, Owen Sound will return home to take on the Sarnia Sting in the season finale.

Sarnia is guaranteed to finish third in the Western Conference and will be scoreboard watching as each of Windsor, Saginaw, and Guelph play out their seasons to see who they will match up with in the 1st round.

The Sting have taken all three games of the season series with the Attack thus far on the season, and will begin their push to the post season in Kitchener on Wednesday night with a 44-16-4-1 record and 93 points.

Tickets for Saturday's regular season finale are limited to standing room only and can be purchased at the MacVicar & McComb ReMax Attack Box Office.
