Shootouts are proving to be no friend of the Owen Sound Attack.
Two weekend games, two shootout losses for the Attack. First it was a 4-3 loss to the Kitchener Rangers Friday, then lost by the same score to the London Knights at home Saturday night.
The Knights came into town with the Attack's first round pick this summer, defenceman Victor Mete, who refused to report to the Attack. The Attack traded him to the Knights in early September, and Mete was booed by the crowd every time he touched the puck.
Opening the scoring for the Attack was Holden Cook in the first, followed by Daniel Milne in the second and Chris Bigras in the third. Nothing was solved in overtime, and a shootout ensued. Jack Flinn took the loss in net.
Friday night in Kitchener, Brandon Hope was in net for the loss. Goals for the Attack were scored by Petrus Palmu, Ethan Syzpula and Zach Nastasiuk.
The Attack are off until next Saturday, when they play host to the Guelph Storm. They're also at home Oct. 5 against Ottawa.
The Attack are 1-0-0-2 so far, good for four points.
