The City of Owen Sound is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Transportation has approved a grant in the amount of $1,444,051 to support the City's proposed Intercommunity Bus Project.
The Intercommunity Bus Project will establish a daily bus route between the Owen Sound Transit Terminal and the City of Guelph Transit Terminal with stops in between. The City will be engaging a transit consultant to work out the details and the contracts necessary to put this service in place. The target service level is one round trip per day, seven days per week. The commitment to the Province is to have the service up and running within one year of signing the agreement. The grant will allow the service to operate for a minimum of four years until March 31, 2023.
"We're pleased to receive this grant, which will allow residents and visitors to move more freely around our neighbouring municipalities and regions," said Mayor, Ian Boddy.
