I'm first generation Canadian, proud son of immigrant parents. Which means my brothers were as well! ( Gordon! ) My challenges were not as great as those faced by my dear cousin Nat, who was a true immigrant! Her recent post inspired me to write something about being a son of immigrants, especially with the anti-refugee anti-immigrant diatribe being spewed by many.
A few years ago, a year before I retired, I was recognized by the Ontario Public Library Association with a lifetime achievement award (thanks Bill!). Cuddling with multiple devicesThe Library is excited to launch a new tech training initiative for adults lead by high school volunteers.

Starting on Thursday, March 2, from 4:00-6:00 pm, and continuing on alternate Thursdays until June 8, adults will be able to come in to the Library and receive assistance from high school volunteers on a variety of computer applications from computer basics, to using social media.
