Wandering around Owen Sound looking at all the empty stores. There have to be ambitious people out there who could make use of the space. Maybe time for me to come out of retirement.....so many options at this point in my life.

So a lot has happened in the last 5 years. I didn't take Annette's suggestion in the 2015 comments to open an "Over 50 sex toy store and jazz lounge" although that could have been a lot of fun too. I did start a new company (Tibbs Management Inc.) and buy a vacant building I'd always been fond of and with a little TLC and flexibility (and money......) brought some life back to it.

The apartments, although not lavish, are clean and affordable and I've been fortunate to have wonderful tenants. The commercial space has bred two new businesses (TrickyBJJ and All Things T) and brought a third (Whimsy) to Owen Sound.

All Things T outgrew the space and moved to the west side and now in its place is the owensoundhub.org our truly local news source and the Community Incubator - a space to hatch new ideas and support the community). I believe it's important for a company (or person) to support the community they're in and Tibbs Management continues to do that.

So 5 years later here we are sitting in the middle of a pandemic. The grumpy old widower is engaged to a wonderful woman; expanding my company to new endeavors; continuing to push for improvements to the Downtown. If you'd asked me 5 years ago where I would be today I'm sure none of those would have made the list.
