Only a couple days remain until the official start of summer and the Longest Day of PLAY physical activity challenge. Kick off your summer in style by taking part - get up, get moving and get outdoors.
The PLAY in Bruce Grey physical activity initiative is pleased to announce the ninth annual Longest Day of PLAY challenge on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. The Longest Day of PLAY is a community-based physical activity awareness campaign designed to encourage Grey Bruce residents to get more active. Visit www.playbrucegrey.com for schedule of events in your community.
"This is now a nationally recognized event with ParticipACTION leading the charge." said Jason Weppler, Health Promoter at the Grey Bruce Health Unit. "Our goal every year is to get more people thinking about their activity levels."
For adults, the goal is to accumulate 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each week. Children and youth should be active for at least one hour every day.
