Okay, Councillor Carol Merton is not suggesting you go all Clark Griswald or anything, but as we settle in for the duration of this Isolation Vacation, the good Councillor had this suggestion today. "What about lighting up the neighbourhoods? Putting the outside lights on again, whether they be Xmas coloured lights, multicoloured patio lights , white lights …to brighten the night and be a sign that we are reaching out to each other?"

My husband Ted has just finished putting our Christmas tree lights away (Hey, don't judge. They'd got as far as the bottom of the basement stairs - he's retired - what's the rush?)  But I think it's a great idea to string them up for the neighbours to see. 

And daytime?  I had just finished making this when the light-up email arrived.  We'd love to share your variations on the theme.
